Vikings Playground Build Is a Team Effort

Midwest Dairy was honored to join forces with the Minnesota Vikings to help construct a playground at Northport Elementary School in Brooklyn Center, Minn. on June 3rd. About 300 volunteers, including Vikings coaches and alumni players, Viktor the Viking, Vikings staff and Toro employees, along with 400 students, participated. Dairy farmer Kathy Skiba from Diamond S Farm in North Branch, Minn. served as a guest speaker at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and talked about dairy farmers’ commitment to child health and wellness through Fuel Up to Play 60 – which Northport Elementary students participate in. The children and volunteers enjoyed samples of chocolate milk and the opportunity to meet Minnesota’s Princess Kay of the Milky Way, Katie Miron. The playground will help Northport students work toward their physical activity goals of getting 60 minutes of play every day.
