Since becoming Minnesota’s Fuel Up to Play 60 state ambassador, Kylie Kasprick has been keeping busy. After returning from the 2012 Nutrition + Physical Activity Learning Connections Summit in Washington DC in September, Kylie received the opportunity to interview Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier. They talked about the importance of eating healthy and staying active, his inspiration and even a little bit about football.
Kylie asked Coach Frazier how often he exercises and what he likes to eat. The coach said he exercises every day and fuels up with foods like egg whites, whole wheat toast and milk. Coach Frazier encourages his players to also make nutritious choices to maximize their energy to be ready for game day.
While he already has two Super Bowl rings from his time as a player with the Chicago Bears, Coach Frazier’s main goal is to coach the Vikings to a Super Bowl championship. He also shared that his biggest role model is his grandma.
When she was finished with her questions, the coach had a few for Kylie. He asked her what she likes to do to stay active, and she shared that she enjoys competitive dancing and riding her bike. In her role as a Fuel Up to Play 60 ambassador, Kylie has also been sharing the importance of eating right and getting 60 minutes of physical activity each day. She recently appeared on the FOX affiliate, KMSP-TV’s morning show, to discuss Fuel Up to Play 60 and demonstrate how to make a healthy yogurt parfait. See her television debut here.
Kylie’s excited to help implement healthy eating and fitness programs at her school, Elm Creek Elementary in Maple Grove. “I am really looking forward to bringing in some fun activities to Elm Creek,” Kylie said. “I know my friends want to eat healthy and exercise, and I am happy I get to show them how!”
