Let’s Move Kicked Off Second Anniversary with Celebratory Event in Des Moines

Thousands of Iowa sixth- through ninth-graders gathered with First Lady Michelle Obama and other dignitaries, including Iowa Governor Terry Brandstad, in Des Moines today to celebrate Let’s Move’s second anniversary. Let’s Move is the First Lady’s platform dedicated to solving the problem of obesity within a generation so that children born today will grow up healthier and be able to pursue their dreams. Did you know Fuel Up to Play 60 is aligned with Let’s Move and is also complementary to other school wellness initiatives, including the USDA’s HealthierUS School ChallengeAnkeny Community Schools‘ recent Challenge video, kicking off their Fuel Up to Play 60 program at the statewide Start Somewhere Walk, was featured at the Iowa Let’s Move event.
