The first Fuel Up to Play 60 challenge of the school year is over and we have the list of victorious schools in nine Midwestern states!
The Are you In? Pledge Campaign Challenge encouraged students to take the Fuel Up to Play 60 pledge, to eat healthy and be active. The following schools finished the challenge with at least 80% student involvement – and in some cases 100% involvement – in the program at their schools:
Arkansas: Morrilton Intermediate School, South Conway County Schools
Iowa: Bryant Elementary School, Dubuque Community Schools
Illinois: Timber Ridge Middle School, Plainfield School District
Kansas: Lincoln Elementary School, McPherson
Minnesota: Golden Hill Learning Center, Rochester
Missouri: Oak Brook Elementary, Parkway Schools
North Dakota: West Fargo High School, West Fargo
Nebraska: Horizon Middle School, Kearney Public Schools
South Dakota: Hereford Elementary School, Meade School District
Winning schools receive a prize package of Fuel Up to Play 60 merchandise that includes t-shirts, bags, mustache stickers, bracelets, water bottles and more.
In other challenge news, if you entered the Casting Call Challenge, expect to hear those results at the end of October. Best of luck to everyone who submitted!
If you want to participate in Fuel Up to Play 60 challenges and have an opportunity to win prizes, there are still more to come. Are you a true breakfast aficionado? Do you love telling others what you made for breakfast? Then we have a challenge for you: From now until December 3, students can submit their own oatmeal breakfast recipes in the Super Bowl Breakfast Challenge. There is a “super” awesome reward for this challenge: a trip to Super Bowl XLVII! Two national winners will each receive a VIP, all-expense-paid trip for two to the Super Bowl in New Orleans and a $1,000 grant for their school to help turn their oatmeal recipes into a reality. More details and entry information are available here.
Congratulations to the winners of the Are You In? Pledge Campaign Challenge and best of luck to those entering in the Super Bowl Breakfast Challenge. We can’t wait to see what recipes you cook up!
